Dodger Stadium

We are checking off seeing all the major league baseball parks. Today we went to Dodger Stadium. This was still an exhibition/Spring Training game (Dodgers vs Angels), but we had previously decided that exhibition games would "count". After Saturday at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, we have only three more bb stadiums to see. I guess then we will have to start on AAA parks.....

Dodger Stadium is being celebrated for its 50th birthday this year, making it among the three oldest ballparks in the country (the others are Fenway and Wrigley). We believe it has undergone one renovation. It is still a decent stadium, but it lacks some of the modern features of the newer stadiums like big club stores, kids' attractions, an openness in the promenades, bars and small restaurant areas, etc. We didn't sit in the club section so have no idea what that is like, however. It is interesting to speculate on what the new ownership of the Dodgers will try to do about the stadium.

Albert Pujols, newly with the Angels from St Louis, hit a towering home run right off the bat in the first inning. The Angels were very dominant. Once again, this is Spring Training so one can't judge anything, but the Angels won 8-3. No contest. (Matt Kemp, the Dodgers star, didn't play.)

What I particularly liked about the stadium was the location. It sits on a hill overlooking downtown. My overlook photos are facing east. Great views!
